Participation
No gift is too small or too large. We ask that you give what you can. Those participating are listed by name with an asterisk indicating multiple gifts.

Intent
Pay forward to the school that meant so much to us in our formative years. This class project was started on the occasion of our 50th anniversary.

Why Scholarships
Scholarships are lifelines to students who want to continue their education but have limited resources. Costs keep escalating. Many deserving students with passing grades, impressive extra curricular activities, and the abilities for continued education don't get needed support. We can make a life-changing difference for several students each year.

Scholarship Criteria

• GPA between 2.0 and 3.49 (as suggested by South High to assist capable students with college/trade school skills and fewer scholarship opportunities than available at GPA's over 3.49)
• Financial need
• Student must have applied to an accredited two or four year college or university, or to a registered trade or apprenticeship vocational program.
• Personal essay (500 words or less) including who they are, goals, experiences, and accomplishments with attached recommendations and financial need documentation.

Scholarship recipients are invited to attend our annual class picnic each August.

Award Selection
SSHS College and Career Center announces the scholarship and handles the scholarship process. Class of 1960 Scholarship Committee members and a Saxon Success Fund representative read and evaluate applications to determine the awards. Serving on this committee is open to interested classmates.
